My Studio Journey

After years of waiting, I finally have the perfect art space to work in. However, it wasn't easy to get here. The cabin I bought was built incorrectly and I had to go back to the bank to try to get my money back from the awful company that built it. Luckily, the bank made a mistake during the case and judged it on the wrong reason code, deciding to refund me and let me keep the cabin. I still needed to repair it though. After speaking to several dishonest builders, I finally found the perfect one who cared about my needs and didn't want to rip me off. Michael, my great builder, repaired my cabin and even made me a shelf and laid my funky vinyl floor, as seen in the photos.

Since my cabin was repaired, I've been braving the cold weather to work in it because I don't have heating, only a heated jacket and socks! You can call me the power pack woman. Anyway, here it is: my art space that I've yearned for years. I wanted to share with you my first designs created in my cabin. I noticed that very loose floral prints are in fashion at the moment, so I designed a collection and illustrated them on model mock-ups. I used brush pens and ink to create these prints. I'm developing my artistic commercial style, which keeps showing up in my art. I guess the more you practice, the more your authentic style emerges, just like developing your handwriting.

I can't wait for summertime when I can experiment with new mediums and embrace the messy while immersing myself in hand-painted florals, textures, skins, paisley, and more.
